Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms explain the basic rules for using Readr’s public website and app experience.

Use of Readr

Readr helps people manage book clubs, organize club reads, vote on future books, track meetings, message club members, and manage personal reading libraries. You agree to use Readr lawfully, respectfully, and consistently with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

Account responsibility

You are responsible for activity that happens through your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Contact Readr if you believe your account, club access, or app access has been compromised. Do not share passwords or authentication codes with Readr support.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse Readr, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, spam others, impersonate another person, harass users, upload illegal content, post abusive or objectionable content, or use Readr in a way that harms readers, clubs, or the platform.

User-generated content

You are responsible for content you add to Readr, including profile information, profile photos, club names, club descriptions, messages, meeting notes, book suggestions, votes, and personal library notes. You should only add content you have the right to share.

By adding content to Readr, you allow Readr to host, store, display, transmit, moderate, and otherwise use that content as reasonably needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.

Moderation rights

Readr may review reports, remove content, restrict access, disable features, suspend accounts, or take other moderation action when content or conduct appears to violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, safety expectations, or applicable law.

Book metadata limitations

Readr may display book metadata from third-party providers, including titles, authors, cover images, identifiers, summaries, and related book details. Book metadata may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or changed by a provider.

Notifications

Readr may send app notifications for account, club, meeting, message, suggestion, voting, or reading-related activity when notifications are enabled. Notification delivery may depend on app settings, device settings, platform services, and network conditions.

Account deletion

Users can delete their account in the Readr app from Settings where available. Account deletion may require reauthentication. Some shared club content may be preserved or de-identified where needed to maintain club history, safety records, or service integrity.

Readr intellectual property

Readr’s name, branding, website, app design, software, and other service materials are owned by Readr or its licensors. These Terms do not give users ownership of Readr’s intellectual property.

Feedback

If you send ideas, suggestions, or feedback about Readr, you allow Readr to use that feedback without obligation to compensate you, while still respecting applicable privacy commitments.

Service availability

Readr may change, pause, limit, or discontinue parts of the website or app. Features may not always be available, and service interruptions can happen. Readr does not promise uninterrupted access or permanent availability of every feature.

Disclaimers

Readr is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, Readr disclaims warranties not expressly stated in these Terms or required by law.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Readr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to every user.

Termination

You may stop using Readr at any time. Readr may suspend or terminate access when needed to protect the service, enforce these Terms, respond to safety reports, comply with law, or address misuse.
